Marcel Vogel, a scientist with IBM who later created PRI (Psychic Research, Inc.) in the early 1980's was the creator of the Vogel Healing Wands.  Vogel knew from his scientific work with crystals at IBM that quartz has the inherent capability of cohering and amplifying energy vibrations and frequencies. One morning upon waking, he saw a vision a shape that he later discovered was the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.

After his vision, it took him one year to cut and grind a crystal to the exact ratio and proportions of the Tree of Life in his vision. The large end of the Wand is cut precisely to the interior angle of 51 degrees, 51 minutes, 51 seconds, the same angle as the Great Pyramid of Giza. This end is the female, receptive end. It draws Prana, life force energy, which spirals down the length of the crystal. This energy is amplified every time it hits a facet. The other end of the crystal wand is cut to a larger interior angle than the female end, comes to a smaller point; it is the male end, the focusing point.

Drew received his training in crystal cutting from Marcel Vogel in 1985. For six years until the time of Marcel Vogel's death, Drew managed all his cutting operations. He continues to be one of two people who provides the functional tools developed by Marcel Vogel, as well as those which he has developed through his own intuitive ability.

Each crystal is hand-cut with diamond grinding tools and polished with high speed cerium oxide pads giving the final product a brilliant gem-like quality that, along with being functional, is also a work of art.

Drew states, "Each piece of quartz, like each person, has a distinctively different feel to it. Even two pieces cut into the same shape will have different qualities. My pieces are spontaneous and intuitive, and are best appreciated by picking them up and looking into the crystal to view the almost infinite variety of reflections that occur within each piece.
